How MegaFood fused loyalty with subscriptions, making members 2x as likely to hold an active subscription
What we've done
MegaFood partnered with Bubblehouse to rebuild its loyalty program around the engine of its business: subscriptions. The old program was a cookie-cutter add-on that ignored subscribers. The new one lives inside the subscription customer portal, rewards customers for subscribing, and upgrades every subscriber to the top tier the moment they start. Members are now twice as likely to hold an active subscription as non-members, generate 94% more revenue per customer, and drive 58% of MegaFood's revenue.
The integration runs the full subscriber journey. Members see their points next to their next order, apply them to an upcoming subscription shipment with one click, and see their remaining balance in the cancellation flow before they confirm a decision to leave. Starting a subscription earns more points than any other action in the program, and new members now reach the top tier in about a week, down from three weeks.
MegaFood
MegaFood has made supplements from real food since 1973, sourcing ingredients from farm partners and building one of the most trusted names in whole-food vitamins. The New Hampshire brand is a certified B Corporation and Plastic Neutral, and its multivitamins, magnesium, and iron products anchor daily wellness routines for customers across the US.
Daily routines make MegaFood a subscription business at heart: its best customer receives her vitamins every month without thinking about it. Loyalty needed to protect and grow that behavior, and the old program did neither.
Loyalty and subscriptions lived in two different worlds
MegaFood's previous program was a cookie-cutter widget bolted onto a subscription-first business. Nothing in it rewarded subscribing, staying subscribed, or adding to a subscription order, even though subscribers are the brand's most valuable customers. The program treated a monthly subscriber the same as a one-time buyer.

Redemption was worse. A subscriber who wanted to use her points had to leave her subscription portal, find the loyalty landing page, click redeem, copy a coupon code, navigate back to the portal, and paste the code in. Each step shed customers, and points sat unused. MegaFood needed the loyalty experience to live where its customers do: inside the subscription.

"Our subscribers used to leave the portal, hunt for a coupon code, and paste it back in to use their points. Now they see their balance next to their next order and apply it in one click. Loyalty lives inside the subscription now."
MegaFood Rewards
Loyalty built into the subscription portal
Bubblehouse embedded the full loyalty experience into MegaFood's subscription customer portal. A member managing her next order sees her points balance on the same screen, slides to choose how much to redeem, and clicks Apply to Subscription: one click, and the points discount her next shipment. No landing page, no coupon code, no copy and paste. Redemption became part of managing a subscription, and half of all points earned in the program now get redeemed.

Earning centers on the subscription too. Start a Subscription generates more points than any other action in the program, alongside creating an account, newsletter and SMS sign-ups, birthdays, social follows, reviews, and voting. A Give $20 / Get $20 referral program turns subscribers into an acquisition channel, receipt upload captures purchases made outside the site, and members can redeem points for free products like Magnesium Citrate Gummies and Iron Energy Gummies, a payoff that lands in the next box.
Wellness Fan to Wellness Icon
Subscribers go straight to the top
Status climbs from Wellness Fan through Wellness Insider to Wellness Icon, and starting a subscription unlocks Wellness Icon on the spot. The brand's most valuable behavior earns its highest status, with richer earning and benefits at the top. Members responded: new members now reach Wellness Icon in about a week on average, down from three weeks, and Icon members hold under half the customer base while driving a majority of revenue.
Built into the cancellation flow
A points balance is a reason to stay
Bubblehouse extends into the subscription cancellation flow. A subscriber who starts to cancel sees her remaining points balance before she confirms, a concrete reminder of the value she would walk away from and an invitation to apply it to her next order instead. Paired with one-click redemption, the flow removes a classic churn trigger: pausing a subscription to use up points.
The subscription numbers carry the story: 34% of loyalty members hold an active subscription against 17% of non-members, members place 81% more purchases per customer, and loyalty participants account for 58% of MegaFood's revenue while making up 42% of its customers.
